From wikitree: A number of profiles (pre-merge) claimed that John Hayden was the son of Gideon Hayden and Margaret Davy christened 2 November 1606 Ottery St. Mary, Devon, England, but without citing any particular documentation. Robert Charles Anderson, in his 1995 Great Migration Begins, vol. I, pp 890-893, does not identify parents.

Stile's Hist. of Windsor, Conn. p.369 states that William Hayden and John Hayden probably brothers came from Hinton Blewet, Co. Somerset, England. This has yet to be proved.[citation needed] There is also dispute over the maiden name of John Hayden's wife. Anderson provides only the given name Susannah, no surname, but others claim Susannah Proctor or Susannah Pullen or even Susannah Lyon of Dorchester.
