Death	November 25, 1879 (Age 38 years) Winona County, Minnesota, USA Cause of death: Train Accident Note: THE LATE RAILROAD ACCIDENT THE LATE RAILROAD ACCIDENT Winona Daily Republican, Friday November 28, 1879 A coroner's inquest on the death of Joseph Brabec, who was killed at the railroad crossing on Tuesday night, was held on Wednesday evening by Deputy Coroner Eastey with the following jury: H. D. Perkins, W. K. F. Vila, J. R. Hatcher J. H. Nagler, Geroge Warren and P. Bradley. After a careful examination of a number of witnesses the jury returned the following verdict: "We, the jury in the case of the death of Joseph Brabec, from the evidence produced, find that the deceased was accidentally killed by a train of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway company on the 25th day of November, 1879, and from said evidence, the Railway company took all necessary precautions to prevent such accident."
