Death of a father	Joseph Brabec November 25, 1879 (Age 15 years) Winona County, Minnesota, USA Cause: Train Accident Note: THE LATE RAILROAD ACCIDENT THE LATE RAILROAD ACCIDENT Winona Daily Republican, Friday November 28, 1879 A coroner's inquest on the death of Joseph Brabec, who was killed at the railroad crossing on Tuesday night, was held on Wednesday evening by Deputy Coroner Eastey with the following jury: H. D. Perkins, W. K. F. Vila, J. R. Hatcher J. H. Nagler, Geroge Warren and P. Bradley. After a careful examination of a number of witnesses the jury returned the following verdict: "We, the jury in the case of the death of Joseph Brabec, from the evidence produced, find that the deceased was accidentally killed by a train of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway company on the 25th day of November, 1879, and from said evidence, the Railway company took all necessary precautions to prevent such accident."

Death of a mother	Elizabeth “Lizzie” Kudlec May 7, 1936 (Age 71 years) Note: Mrs. Elizabeth Kiral, 92, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Yahnke, 483 East Third street, yesterday at 1:45 p.m. Death was due to the infirmities of age. Mrs. Kiral was born in Bohemia March 31, 1844, and came to the United States with her husband after their marriage. She was a member of the Altar society and the Sorrowful Mother society of St. John's parish. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. A. J. Schneider and Mrs. Yahnke, Winona, and Mrs. Emma Adami, San Francisco, and three sons, Frank Brabbitt, Winona; Joseph Kiral, Wiscoy, and Joyn Kiral, Winona. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. John's church, the Rev. Edward Kasal officiating. Preliminary services will be conducted at the house at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Winona Republican Herald, Friday, May 8, 1936.
