Residences: Petite Riviere along the St Charles River for 15 yrs. Census 1667: They owned 1 house and 1 arpent of cleared land. Census 1681: They had 8 children, 10 arpents cultivated land; 1 cow and 1 gun. Moved in 1683 to St Bernard near Charlesbourg.

nosorigines: 16 Jan 2013. Birth-Marriage-Death. Parent's details are available. Rene was the father of an Enfant naturel with Antoinette-Renee LaBastille, wife of Rene Gauthier. The child was Jacques born 26 Jul 1669 at Quebec.

Notes for Rene Reame: Came to New France about 1660. From the same parrish in France as the Trudeau family. Wife was a King's bride. Was a master carpenter and son of a carpenter. Intenddant Jean Talon was a witness at his marriage to Marie Chevreau in 1665. She had a dowry of 200 pounds.

He appears to have been sued in the courts on many occassions. He seems to have been quarelsome, as suggested by at least one trial where, accused of insulting Marie Tavernier, he was sentenced to begging her pardon on his knees. Another account of the same event described the ancestor in Quebec, in 1669, "beaten through the streets of this city for two days in a row".
