Dunker Owatonna—Robert Edward Dunker, 91, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna. He was born January 20, 1925 in Owatonna the son of Henry and Minnie (Kieselbach) Dunker. Born and raised in Owatonna, Bob was a Seabee and served in the US Navy during WWII. He participated in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach. Bob married Lois Myers of Blooming Prairie November 23, 1946 in Owatonna. He worked in Owatonna for the PhotoNews until moving his family, in 1953, to Clarion, IA to work for Allen Printing Company. Bob lived in Clarion until moving back to Owatonna in 2000 after Lois passed away. Bob was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He is survived by daughters, Catherine (and Martin) Hoesch of Ames, IA, Peggy (and Dallas) Ketchum of Owatonna, Barbara Dunker of Edina; son, Steven (and Julie) Dunker of Clarion, IA; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Dunker and 4 sisters. Visitation will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion, IA.
